NBFC & Gold Loan Branch
Signage & Branch Branding

Fascia and name boards, customer notices, counter branding and branch fit-outs for NBFCs, gold loan companies, microfinance institutions and housing finance companies. Organised gold loans reached about ₹18 trillion in March 2026, and NBFC gold loan assets are expected to grow about 35% a year to March 2028 (ICRA, 2026). Every new gold loan branch also needs security infrastructure and a vault, and signage that works around both.

Sector Challenges We Solve

What Makes NBFC & Gold Loan Projects Different

A New Branch Every Week, in Towns Your Team Has Not Seen

Gold loan and microfinance networks expand into tier-2 and tier-3 towns fast, often opening several branches a week. A local sign shop in each town means a different colour, a different LED module and no warranty trail. IBS produces the branch kit centrally and installs it on the opening schedule, with a photograph of every branch on its first day.

Security Comes Before Signage

A gold loan branch holds customer gold on the premises. Signage and fit-out work must not block CCTV sight lines, alarm sensors or the strongroom approach, and installers need controlled access. IBS plans fixings around the security layout and works with the branch security plan, not around it.

Local Language, Local Rules

Name boards have to carry the state language where state law requires it, and RBI’s 2026 ombudsman scheme requires its salient features in English, Hindi and the regional language. IBS produces language variants from one master file, so a Maharashtra branch, a Tamil Nadu branch and a Karnataka branch are all on brand and on rule.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About NBFC & Gold Loan Projects

What must an NBFC branch display in India?

It depends on the type. NBFCs covered by the RBI Integrated Ombudsman Scheme, 2026 must display its salient features in English, Hindi and the regional language and their Principal Nodal Officer’s contact details. Microfinance lenders must display their fair practices code and interest rates in every office. Housing finance companies have their own notice board and grievance display rules.

Which NBFCs does the RBI Integrated Ombudsman Scheme cover?

Clause 1(3) of the 2026 scheme covers NBFCs that accept deposits and NBFCs with customer interface that have assets of ₹100 crore and above, along with banks and other regulated entities. Housing finance companies are excluded; their complaints route runs to the National Housing Bank.

Do gold loan branches have to display anything specific?

RBI’s 2025 NBFC conduct directions set no gold-loan branch notice board. They require the gold valuation methodology on the website (para 45), auction procedure and charges in the loan agreement and key fact statement (para 49), auction notices in two newspapers (para 61), and security infrastructure and a safe deposit vault at every lending branch (paras 52 and 54). Ombudsman scheme displays still apply where the NBFC is covered.

Is the NBFC Fair Practices Code still required on branch notice boards?

The older requirement to display the grievance redressal officer’s name and contact details at branches does not appear in RBI’s consolidated NBFC Responsible Business Conduct Directions, 2025. Branch display duties now come from the 2026 ombudsman scheme and the microfinance and housing finance sections. Showing grievance contacts at the branch is still good customer practice.

What must a microfinance branch display?

Under RBI’s 2025 NBFC conduct directions, the fair practices code for microfinance loans must be displayed in all offices (para 76), and the minimum, maximum and average interest rates charged must be displayed prominently in all offices (para 82). Borrowers also receive a loan card carrying the grievance nodal officer’s details (para 78).

What must a housing finance company branch display?

RBI’s Housing Finance Companies Directions, 2025 require a comprehensive notice board of at least 2 feet by 2 feet with name, weekly holiday and working hours outside, the right to approach the National Housing Bank’s complaint cell (para 144), product information in Hindi, English or the local language (para 167) and the list of empanelled recovery agencies (para 170).

How big is the gold loan market in India?

ICRA estimates organised gold loans from banks and NBFCs at about ₹18 trillion in March 2026, with NBFC gold loan assets at about ₹4 trillion. It expects NBFC gold loan assets to grow at about 35% a year over 2026-27 and 2027-28, and the organised market to cross ₹30 trillion by March 2028 (ICRA, July 2026).

How does IBS keep up with several branch openings a week?

Each branch type has an approved kit: fascia, name board, notice boards, counter graphics and window film. Kits are produced ahead of the opening calendar at the Mumbai facility, adapted to each branch’s survey, dispatched with installation drawings and installed by IBS crews, with a first-day photograph of every branch.

How does IBS install signage in a gold loan branch without compromising security?

Fixings and cable routes are planned around CCTV sight lines, alarm sensors and the strongroom approach before installation starts. Installers work inside the branch’s access controls, usually outside business hours, and nothing is mounted where it blocks a camera, a sensor or an emergency exit.

Can IBS produce branch signage in regional languages?

Yes. The ombudsman scheme display needs English, Hindi and the regional language, and state law can require the state language on name boards. IBS keeps one master file per sign with language variants, so every state in a rollout gets the right version without redesigning the kit.

What goes into an NBFC branch signage kit?

Fascia or glow sign board, name board with any state-language version, statutory and customer notice panels for that entity type, counter and service desk graphics, queue and wayfinding signs, window film, and exit signage where the building requires it. Each kit is drawn once per branch type and adapted to the branch survey, not redesigned per site.

Does IBS do the NBFC branch fit-out as well?

Yes: civil work, electrical and data, false ceiling, counters and furniture, plus signage, under one IBS project manager. The vault and security systems come from specialist suppliers, and IBS plans the fit-out around their installation so the programme holds. One project manager coordinates both, so the branch opens on the date the business planned.

Which NBFCs has IBS worked with?

IBS is an approved vendor with Godrej Finance. Its wider BFSI work includes branch signage and in-branch branding for IDFC FIRST Bank across India and branch signage and graphics for HDFC Life. Reference details are shared on request once a brief is in hand.

What happens to signage when an NBFC closes a branch?

RBI’s 2025 NBFC conduct directions require at least three months’ public notice before closing a branch, in one national and one local-language newspaper (para 102). IBS can decommission the signage safely at closure, make good the frontage for the landlord, and recover reusable elements for another site.

How does IBS work with an NBFC’s procurement team?

Through vendor registration, a rate contract for the branch kit, and purchase orders per branch or per batch. IBS issues line-item BOQs and GST-compliant invoices, which suits finance teams that approve branch openings one at a time. Each purchase order maps to one branch, so costs sit against the right cost centre.

What warranty does IBS give on NBFC branch signage?

Signage workmanship is warranted for 12 to 24 months depending on the product, with manufacturer warranty passed through on named LED modules and power supplies, and a named IBS contact holding the drawings and spares for the network. Warranty certificates and electrical test records are handed over branch by branch.

What signage does an NBFC or gold loan branch need?

A fascia and name board, counter and customer area branding, and the notices its RBI category requires: ombudsman scheme displays for covered NBFCs, fair practices and interest-rate notices for microfinance, and a notice board for housing finance. Gold loan branches add a vault and security infrastructure that signage must work around. IBS supplies all of it as a branch kit.

What is a branch kit?

The approved set of signs, notices and graphics for one branch type, drawn once and produced in batches ahead of the opening calendar. A lender opening several branches a week needs a kit, because a fresh design per branch cannot keep pace or stay consistent.

Which NBFCs are covered by the RBI ombudsman scheme?

Under the RB-IOS 2026, NBFCs that accept deposits and NBFCs with customer interface and assets of ₹100 crore and above. Covered NBFCs must display the scheme’s salient features in English, Hindi and the regional language. Housing finance companies are excluded and use the National Housing Bank route.

Rollout

How IBS keeps pace with a fast-opening branch network

The constraint is the opening calendar. The kit is produced ahead of it, not after the lease is signed.

How a network rollout runs

  • Branch survey: fascia size, power point, landlord and municipal rules
  • Artwork adapted from the brand manual and signed off per branch type
  • Batch production at the Mumbai facility against one physical colour swatch
  • Dispatch with installation drawings; IBS crews install after business hours
  • As-installed photographs of every location in the closeout pack
  • Statutory panels kept as one versioned master for later reprints

How branch signage is specified

  • Fascia on aluminium composite panel over a powder-coated frame, fixed after a structural check
  • Lit letters with acrylic faces, LED modules and named SMPS drivers, rated IP65 outdoors
  • Lightbox and notice board faces on diffuser-grade acrylic for even light and readable text
  • Supply through MCB and RCCB protection, earthing to IS 3043, cabling in conduit
  • Interior graphics on cast film or laminated media; lamination on high-touch counter panels
  • A signage schedule and shop drawings per branch type, signed off before production

What IBS brings regardless of sector

  • Signage fabricated at the IBS Mumbai facility: laser cutting, powder coating, assembly, QC
  • Furniture built at the Vasai East factory to as-built dimensions
  • In-house civil engineers, MEP coordinators, false ceiling and joinery teams
  • Built to NBC 2016, IS 3043 (earthing) and IS 732 (electrical installation)
  • Factory QC on every unit before dispatch, so defects surface in Mumbai not on site
  • Pan-India delivery plus UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait

What you receive at handover

  • Joint snag walk, snags listed, dated, closed and photographically evidenced
  • As-built drawings plus commissioning and test records for HVAC, electrical and fire
  • Warranty certificates with manufacturer pass-throughs collated in one file
  • Signage workmanship warranted 12 to 24 months; fit-outs carry a stated defect liability period
  • A named IBS contact for that period, holding the original drawings and spares

Commercials

How the work is priced, specified and verified

The parts of a quotation that decide whether the number you compare is the number you pay, and the named components behind the specification.

How a price is built

  • A line-item BOQ against a stated scope, not a rate per square foot
  • Component brands named on the BOQ rather than written as a generic line
  • Provisional sums identified as provisional, not folded into a rate
  • Written assumptions, so you can see which one moved if the number changes
  • Variations agreed in writing against the original BOQ before work proceeds
  • RA bills raised against measured work completed, not elapsed calendar time

Named components we specify

  • LED and drivers: Nichia-class modules with Mean Well or Schneider drivers, IP65 outdoors
  • Films and wraps: 3M and Avery Dennison cast media
  • Electrical: Havells, Legrand and Schneider switchgear, MCB and RCCB protection
  • HVAC: Daikin, Blue Star and Voltas VRF and ducted systems
  • Plumbing: Astral and Supreme CPVC and UPVC, Jaquar fixtures
  • Boards and laminates: Gyproc and Saint-Gobain partitions, Merino and Greenlam surfaces

What to check in any quotation, ours included

  • Is the driver brand named, or does the line just say "LED driver"? That is the component that fails first and the one most often substituted downward.
  • Is the defect liability period stated in months, and does it start at handover or at practical completion?
  • Does the price assume access you actually have, and what happens to it if the access window changes?
  • Who is the named project lead, and how many other jobs are they running at the same time?
  • Are spares held against your specification, or bought nearest-match when something fails?
  • On a multi-site programme, how will you be shown that site 140 matches site 1 without visiting both?

How quality is verified

  • Colour proofed against one approved physical swatch under controlled lighting
  • Factory QC on every unit before dispatch from the Mumbai facility
  • Hydrotesting on plumbing and pressure tests on sprinkler lines before concealment
  • Earthing verified to IS 3043; electrical installation to IS 732
  • Snag list walked jointly, closed and re-inspected with photographic evidence
  • As-built photographs of every installed location on a multi-site programme
