Sector Challenges We Solve

What Makes Banking Projects Different

Every Frontage Is Different, the Brand Manual Is Not

A bank’s brand manual assumes a clean fascia of standard width. Real branches sit behind shopping-arcade parapets, heritage frontages and landlord signage bands. IBS surveys each branch, adapts the approved artwork to the space that exists, and gets the adaptation signed off before production, so the manual is respected without forcing a sign that does not fit.

Statutory Notices Change, and Every Branch Must Follow

When a regulatory scheme or charge schedule changes, the notice boards in every branch are out of date the same day. IBS treats notice boards as a managed print programme: one master file, versioned, reprinted in batches and swapped branch by branch, with photographs proving each branch now shows the current version.

Working Inside a Live, Secure Branch

Branches cannot close for signage work, and cash areas, strongrooms and CCTV coverage cannot be compromised. IBS schedules installation after banking hours or on holidays, works with the branch’s security team on access, and keeps cameras, alarm sensors and emergency exits clear of new signage.

Why Impulse Branding Solutions

Our Advantage in Banking

Notice Boards Run as a Programme

Statutory and customer notices printed from one controlled master, reprinted across the network when content changes, with as-installed photographs from every branch.

One Production Batch for the Network

Fascias, ATM lobby panels and counter graphics produced at the IBS Mumbai facility against one approved colour swatch, then dispatched with installation drawings to each branch.

Branch Fit-Out in the Same Contract

Civil, electrical, false ceiling, counters and ATM lobby works run by the same IBS team that makes the signage, so power points and fixings are planned, not improvised.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About Banking Projects

What notices must a bank branch display in India?

Under RBI’s Commercial Banks Responsible Business Conduct Directions, 2025, a branch shows a Comprehensive Notice Board (para 47), its name, working days, hours and weekly off outside the premises (para 49), service charges and recent changes (para 82), time norms for specialised transactions (para 45) and trilingual counter indicator boards (para 21(3)). The RBI Integrated Ombudsman Scheme, 2026 adds its salient features and the Principal Nodal Officer’s contact details (clause 18).

What is a Comprehensive Notice Board in a bank?

It is the single statutory board in the banking hall that carries the customer service information RBI requires, in the format annexed to its 2025 conduct directions. RBI says it may be at least 2 feet by 2 feet for reading from 3 to 5 metres, must show the date it was last updated with recent changes flagged, and must be bilingual in Hindi-speaking states and trilingual elsewhere. Pattern and colour are left to the bank.

Which regulator mandates the Comprehensive Notice Board?

The Reserve Bank of India. For commercial banks it sits in the Reserve Bank of India (Commercial Banks, Responsible Business Conduct) Directions, 2025, dated 28 November 2025, paragraphs 47 and 48. Small finance banks, payments banks and local area banks have parallel conduct directions, and housing finance companies have an equivalent notice board under their own 2025 directions.

What must a bank display about the RBI Integrated Ombudsman Scheme?

The Reserve Bank Integrated Ombudsman Scheme, 2026 replaced the 2021 scheme from 1 July 2026. Clause 18(4) requires its salient features to be displayed prominently in English, Hindi and the regional language in every office and branch. Clause 18(3) requires the Principal Nodal Officer’s name and contact details and the complaint portal link. Posters that still cite the 2021 scheme are out of date.

Do bank signboards have to be in Hindi?

For public sector banks, yes. Rule 11(3) of the Official Languages Rules, 1976 requires name-plates and sign-boards in Central Government offices, which include corporations and companies the Centre owns or controls, to be in Hindi and English. For all commercial banks, RBI requires counter indicator boards in English, Hindi and the regional language. State shop and establishment rules can add a state-language requirement, so check the state.

How must a bank display service charges at a branch?

RBI’s 2025 conduct directions (para 82) require service charges to be shown on the branch notice board, and any change made in the preceding 30 days to be displayed prominently on the notice board and on the bank’s website. In practice that means the charge schedule panel needs to be easy to replace, because it changes more often than anything else on the board.

Do mandatory notices take priority over promotional displays in a bank?

Yes. Paragraph 56 of RBI’s 2025 conduct directions says mandatory displays must not be obstructed and take priority over promotional boards. When IBS plans a branch graphics layout, the statutory boards are placed first, at readable height and distance, and campaign and product displays are arranged around them, not over them.

What must be displayed at an ATM in India?

RBI’s ATM and White Label ATM FAQ, updated 4 July 2025, says banks and operators must display in the ATM premises the names and contact numbers of officers, or toll-free or help desk numbers, for complaints. Each ATM must also be marked as metro or non-metro, by screen message, sticker or poster. Where a ramp is impracticable, the conduct directions require the reasons to be recorded and displayed.

Do bank branches have to display deposit insurance information?

The DICGC logo and QR code requirement applies to a bank’s website and internet banking portal, under DICGC’s circular of 12 July 2023, effective 1 September 2023. At branches, DICGC supplies printed leaflets for display, and RBI requires passbooks to show deposit insurance cover and its limit, currently ₹5 lakh per depositor. Many banks also place a deposit insurance notice near the notice board.

What accessibility signage does a bank branch need?

RBI’s 2025 conduct directions require magnifying glasses in all branches with a prominent notice of facilities for persons with disabilities (para 99), a clearly identifiable dedicated or priority counter for senior citizens and differently abled customers (para 110), and Local Level Committee details under the National Trust Act displayed in the local language plus English or Hindi (para 108).

How does IBS roll out signage across hundreds of bank branches?

Each branch is surveyed for fascia size, power and landlord or municipal rules. Artwork is adapted from the approved brand manual and signed off per branch type. Production runs at the Mumbai facility against one physical colour swatch, then dispatches with installation drawings. IBS crews install after banking hours and send as-installed photographs, so the premises team can check every branch without visiting it.

Can IBS update notice boards in every branch when RBI changes a rule?

Yes. IBS keeps the notice board artwork as one versioned master for the network, with regional-language variants. When a scheme, charge or contact changes, the affected panels are reprinted in a batch, dispatched branch by branch and swapped, and each branch returns a photograph showing the new version in place. The 2026 ombudsman scheme is a current example of a change every branch had to make.

Can IBS work on a branch without closing it?

Yes. Installation is scheduled after banking hours, on weekly offs or on holidays, and phased where a branch must stay open during a refit. IBS agrees access with the branch security team, keeps cash areas and strongroom approaches clear, and makes sure new signage does not block CCTV, alarm sensors or emergency exits.

Does IBS handle ATM lobby branding and ATM room fit-outs?

Yes. ATM lobby fascias, wall surrounds, frosted and one-way vision film on the glazing, complaint-contact and metro or non-metro signage, lighting and the electrical work for the ATM room are all within IBS scope, produced and installed by the same team that handles the branch.

Which banks has IBS worked with?

IBS has delivered branch signage and in-branch branding for IDFC FIRST Bank branches across India, with manufacturing and installation by its own teams. IBS is also an approved vendor with HSBC. Reference details are shared on request once a brief is in hand.

How do banks empanel a signage vendor?

Usually through the bank’s premises, administration or procurement department: vendor registration, technical and commercial evaluation, then a rate contract with purchase orders raised per branch. IBS works inside that process, with line-item BOQs, GST-compliant invoicing and the documentation that institutional procurement asks for.

What warranty does IBS give on bank branch signage?

Signage workmanship is warranted for 12 to 24 months depending on the product, with manufacturer warranty passed through on named LED modules and power supplies. The warranty certificate and electrical test records are handed over at installation, and a named IBS contact holds the drawings and spares for the network.

What does IBS make for a bank branch?

Fascia signage in ACP with LED or acrylic lettering, projecting and pylon signs, ATM lobby branding, counter and teller graphics, the Comprehensive Notice Board and other statutory panels, trilingual counter indicator boards, window film, wayfinding and queue signage, and the branch fit-out itself: civil, electrical, false ceiling and counters.

What does a bank branch signage programme have to cover?

The brand, and the law. A branch needs its fascia, ATM lobby and interior graphics built to the brand manual, plus the displays RBI requires: a Comprehensive Notice Board, name and working hours outside, trilingual counter boards, service charges and the 2026 ombudsman scheme notice. IBS produces both from one master and installs them across branch networks.

What is a Comprehensive Notice Board?

The single statutory board in a banking hall that carries the customer service information RBI prescribes. RBI’s 2025 conduct directions say it may be at least 2 feet by 2 feet for reading from 3 to 5 metres, must show when it was last updated, and must be bilingual or trilingual depending on the state.

What is the RB-IOS 2026?

The Reserve Bank Integrated Ombudsman Scheme, 2026 is RBI’s complaint escalation scheme for banks and covered NBFCs, in force from 1 July 2026. It replaced the 2021 scheme and requires its salient features to be displayed in English, Hindi and the regional language at every branch.

Rollout

How IBS runs a multi-branch bank programme

The first branch proves the design. The two-hundredth proves the vendor.

How a network rollout runs

  • Branch survey: fascia size, power point, landlord and municipal rules
  • Artwork adapted from the brand manual and signed off per branch type
  • Batch production at the Mumbai facility against one physical colour swatch
  • Dispatch with installation drawings; IBS crews install after business hours
  • As-installed photographs of every location in the closeout pack
  • Statutory panels kept as one versioned master for later reprints

How branch signage is specified

  • Fascia on aluminium composite panel over a powder-coated frame, fixed after a structural check
  • Lit letters with acrylic faces, LED modules and named SMPS drivers, rated IP65 outdoors
  • Lightbox and notice board faces on diffuser-grade acrylic for even light and readable text
  • Supply through MCB and RCCB protection, earthing to IS 3043, cabling in conduit
  • Interior graphics on cast film or laminated media; lamination on high-touch counter panels
  • A signage schedule and shop drawings per branch type, signed off before production

What IBS brings regardless of sector

  • Signage fabricated at the IBS Mumbai facility: laser cutting, powder coating, assembly, QC
  • Furniture built at the Vasai East factory to as-built dimensions
  • In-house civil engineers, MEP coordinators, false ceiling and joinery teams
  • Built to NBC 2016, IS 3043 (earthing) and IS 732 (electrical installation)
  • Factory QC on every unit before dispatch, so defects surface in Mumbai not on site
  • Pan-India delivery plus UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait

What you receive at handover

  • Joint snag walk, snags listed, dated, closed and photographically evidenced
  • As-built drawings plus commissioning and test records for HVAC, electrical and fire
  • Warranty certificates with manufacturer pass-throughs collated in one file
  • Signage workmanship warranted 12 to 24 months; fit-outs carry a stated defect liability period
  • A named IBS contact for that period, holding the original drawings and spares

Commercials

How the work is priced, specified and verified

The parts of a quotation that decide whether the number you compare is the number you pay, and the named components behind the specification.

How a price is built

  • A line-item BOQ against a stated scope, not a rate per square foot
  • Component brands named on the BOQ rather than written as a generic line
  • Provisional sums identified as provisional, not folded into a rate
  • Written assumptions, so you can see which one moved if the number changes
  • Variations agreed in writing against the original BOQ before work proceeds
  • RA bills raised against measured work completed, not elapsed calendar time

Named components we specify

  • LED and drivers: Nichia-class modules with Mean Well or Schneider drivers, IP65 outdoors
  • Films and wraps: 3M and Avery Dennison cast media
  • Electrical: Havells, Legrand and Schneider switchgear, MCB and RCCB protection
  • HVAC: Daikin, Blue Star and Voltas VRF and ducted systems
  • Plumbing: Astral and Supreme CPVC and UPVC, Jaquar fixtures
  • Boards and laminates: Gyproc and Saint-Gobain partitions, Merino and Greenlam surfaces

What to check in any quotation, ours included

  • Is the driver brand named, or does the line just say "LED driver"? That is the component that fails first and the one most often substituted downward.
  • Is the defect liability period stated in months, and does it start at handover or at practical completion?
  • Does the price assume access you actually have, and what happens to it if the access window changes?
  • Who is the named project lead, and how many other jobs are they running at the same time?
  • Are spares held against your specification, or bought nearest-match when something fails?
  • On a multi-site programme, how will you be shown that site 140 matches site 1 without visiting both?

How quality is verified

  • Colour proofed against one approved physical swatch under controlled lighting
  • Factory QC on every unit before dispatch from the Mumbai facility
  • Hydrotesting on plumbing and pressure tests on sprinkler lines before concealment
  • Earthing verified to IS 3043; electrical installation to IS 732
  • Snag list walked jointly, closed and re-inspected with photographic evidence
  • As-built photographs of every installed location on a multi-site programme
